Maxime Iaciancio : Board Game Designer, Interactive Author & Illustrator
It all began just over 10 years ago with the birth of my children. This major turning point ignited a deep passion for board games. As a graphic designer, illustrator, and creative at heart, I have always felt the need to bring my ideas to life.
This natural curiosity led me to become an author and co-author of titles such as Les Sardines de Marseille (published by Faire Play) and Maki San (published by Ludically). Today, I am taking a new step by embarking on the self-publishing adventure with Book to Deck™.

The Birth of the Book to Deck™ Interactive Tale
This project is particularly close to my heart: I wanted to create the most complete experience possible within a single object, requiring nothing more than a pencil, an eraser, and a pair of scissors. The result is a hybrid interactive book concept that merges the immersion of a gamebook with the strategy of a card game.
Every illustration was imagined, sketched, and hand-drawn. My work is based on a fusion of traditional techniques and digital tools. Everything starts with pencil sketches from my imagination. These sketches then go through a photo-compositing phase in Photoshop before being refined in Procreate.
For the cover, I chose to integrate AI, including Adobe Firefly and Nano Banana Pro, to enhance the final result. My goal was to precisely translate the world I had in mind to offer you an immersive visual experience. I wanted to bring my entire journey together: from the pencil strokes learned in class to the most recent AI tools.
A Collective Adventure
A concept is only as good as the players who test it and the friends who proofread it. A huge thank you to all the playtesters, proofreaders, and everyone who accompanied me on this quest, helping me refine every rule and every detail of this interactive book.
It is with great enthusiasm that I share this project with you today, proud to offer an original creation. I sincerely hope that Book to Deck™ will transport you, entertain you, and above all, inspire you.
Enjoy the adventure!
